Element skateboards decks12/8/2023 This will make it easier for you to control your tricks. The size of the deck is mainly decided by the deck width, and you should make sure that the tip of your shoes goes slightly beyond the deck. What Skateboard Deck Size Should I Get?Īs a general rule, the skateboard deck’s size should match your shoe size. Medium concave fits in between these two and is the most common concave design. A deeper concave, on the other hand, enables you to perform flip tricks more easily. Low concave decks allow better foot placement on the deck due to having a bigger flat area surface. In addition, nearly all skate decks come with double-kicktails, the upward curves in the nose and tail, to help to pop and control the board when making tricks.Īnother characteristic of a skateboard deck is concave, which is the inward curve of the surface of the deck. This means the deck has seven to nine plies of wood compressed into a deck, which increases the resistance of the board. Skateboard decks are mainly made of 7-ply to 9-ply wood construction, 7-ply construction being the most common. Another common option is Hard Rock Maple, which is a hard, strong wood. Canadian maple is considered to be the most durable and resistant to breaking, so it should be your choice if you are looking for a long-lasting deck. However, it should be noted that there are differences in the strength of the different maple types. Modern-day skateboard decks are nearly always constructed from durable maple wood. This is because they come in a huge range of different color and design options, which makes it easy to find a deck to fit your preference. Aside from providing a platform for the feet and connecting parts like the trucks and grip tape together, skate decks also allow riders to express their style and personalities. It is the foundation of the board and has a big impact on your overall riding experience and skateboarding style. While if the deck is too wide, it can be less responsive and difficult to maneuver.Ī skateboard deck is one of the most important skateboard parts. If the deck is too narrow for your shoe size, the skateboard will feel too unstable. You want to make sure that the deck is wide enough for your feet, as this will make it easier for you to steer. It ensures the best possible experience when skateboarding. When selecting a skateboard size, always consider your shoe size when picking a deck. For teens and adults, the correct size cuts the risk of injuries when doing skateboard tricks. The right skateboard size based on shoe size increases stability and performance.įor kids, a skateboard should feel balanced for learning the basics of skateboarding. Whether you are a child, teen, or an adult, picking a skateboard based on your shoe size is essential. The graphic elements are taken from the cult tv-series The Mandalorian with the adorable Yoda Child. One of the most important things to consider when choosing a skateboard size is shoe size. Honkai star rail12/7/2023 After escaping the invasion, you eventually team up with members of the Astral Express, a train that can travel through space. You start the game by waking up in a space station that’s being invaded by an evil alien coalition. Though HoYoverse has spoiled me with Genshin’s evergrowing world of Archons and vast regions, I was impressed to see the developer still go above and beyond for Honkai Star Rail’s sci-fi story and characters. If you still think Star Rail’s gameplay is too slow for your liking, HoYoverse also added a 2x option to speed up your fights. Rather than being tedious and unnecessary, Honkai Star Rail’s turn-based gameplay teaches players to take their time analyzing their opponents before even landing a single attack. I used Dan Heng as a heavy hitter that could deal critical damage and take out enemies without having to break their shields. While Honkai Star Rail teaches you to exploit enemy weaknesses, you can find your way around fights by building characters a certain way. Deploying multiple enemy waves with some of them having one or no weaknesses, these fights teach you how to plan your attacks out and build the right team composition. Since Genshin only gives sequences to 5-star characters, HSR’s detailing for each character’s ultimate adds a bit more personality when you use them in battle.Īfter you’ve learned the elements and characters’ moves, the game occasionally throws in a significantly harder fight to test your mettle. One nice touch is that all players have thrilling ultimate sequences. The game allows you to use up to four ults at once to give you the upper hand in tough battles. Once full, you can use the ultimate immediately after the current turn. Upon executing actions and taking damage from opponents, characters will build their ultimate meter. If you hit an enemy with their weakness in exploration mode, you can inflict extra damage and even affect them with an elemental status like Burn or Frozen. You can also preemptively strike opponents even before the fight begins. If you break the shield of an opponent, the opponent will be stunned, giving you a few extra turns before they recover their shield. Similar to Genshin Impact, characters can use elemental skills to exploit the weaknesses of certain opponents for extra damage to their health and shield, identified by the red and white bar respectively above their head. You enter fights with a party of up to four characters and take turns attacking the enemy troop. While turn-based mechanics is quite the departure from Genshin’s action RPG elements, Honkai Star Rail flawlessly executes the battle system with flashy character skills and fast-paced action sequences. Honkai Star Rail’s turn-based gameplay is easy to learn and fun to master Screenshot by Joseph Asuncion/ONE Esports The latest title in the Honkai franchise, Star Rail steers away from the previous installment’s hack-and-slash gameplay (Honkai Impact 3rd) for turn-based action akin to Persona 5 and Final Fantasy.Ī Genshin fan since day one, I had my doubts on whether or not HoYoverse could deliver an even better RPG experience than Genshin’s breathtaking open-world adventure, but I stand corrected.Īfter participating in the game’s second closed beta test, I can say that Honkai Star Rail looks like the next best game for Genshin players, and here’s why. Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse is shooting for the stars with its tactical RPG, Honkai Star Rail.

Star trek resurgence platforms12/7/2023 You’ll have to make these choices quickly, too, because you’re on a timer. How well you do as Carter affects what happens to the ship, but the decisions you make as Jara affect Carter if something goes wrong. In one early scene, Carter is out on the ship’s hull repairing a critical system, while Jara is on the bridge. Jara and Carter rarely directly interact with one another but both of them play important roles in the story, and Dramatic Labs does a good job showing how the decisions made by one of them can impact the other. It gives you a better idea of the stakes for everyone aboard – problems apply to more than the folks on the bridge, who knew! – and makes scenarios more exciting. Other times it means rerouting power to a critical system or taking a spacewalk to repair the Resolute. Sometimes, that means giving orders from the bridge or leading an away team. Star Trek: Resurgence will be released in Spring 2022.The perspective effectively bounces between Jara and Carter depending on the situation. This is one of the most intriguing titles to come from former Telltale developers yet! It doesn't look like Dramatic Labs will run into that problem. In the last years of Telltale, the developer's old technology held it back. In the press release revealing the game, Bruner confirms that Star Trek: Resurgence is built on a mix of Epic Games' Unreal Engine and a proprietary narrative engine built by Dramatic Labs. As classic Star Trek was more discussion, ethics, and moral heavy than action-focused, Telltale's formula seems a good fit for a Star Trek video game adaptation. Star Trek: Resurgence is a third-person adventure game mainly centered around players constantly making meaningful choices that can impact the entire story. What is Star Trek: Resurgence gameplay like? With Life is Strange: True Colors and now Star Trek: Resurgence now launching like this, the days of the episodic adventure game seem to be behind us. When it launches in Spring 2022, you'll be getting the entire game and won't have to wait months for the next episode. " Star Trek: Resurgence is a single, lengthy story," a PR representative for the game tells Inverse. While the spirit of Telltale is imbued into Star Trek: Resurgence, there is one significant difference: It won’t be told in episodes. Ubisoft Is Star Trek: Resurgence an episodic game? The last major Star Trek video game was Star Trek: Bridge Crew, a VR title released by Ubisoft in 2017. This team is definitely made up of people that worked on Telltale's greatest hits. Outside of Bruner, other key developers at Dramatic Labs include former Telltale Creative Directors like Andrew Grant, Kent Mudle, Brett Tosti, and former Lead Writer Dan Martin. Dramatic Labs is a brand new studio formed by Kevin Bruner, who was also a co-founder of Telltale Games. ViacomCBS partnered with Dramatic Labs to create Star Trek: Resurgence. Who is the Star Trek: Resurgence developer? Do note that the game's PC version will be exclusive to the Epic Game Store for an unspecified amount of time after release. It will be available across PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Star Trek: Resurgence will be a multiplatform game when it launches. What are the Star Trek: Resurgence platforms? It's confirmed that the game is set shortly after Star Trek: The Next Generation and will feature some returning characters. The game follows them and the crew of the Resolute as they try to stop two civilizations on the brink of war. Resolute: First Officer Jara Rydek and Engineering Crewperson Carter Diaz. Players control two main characters on the U.S.S. The story takes center stage in choice-driven adventure games like Star Trek: Resurgence and the developers have teased what we can expect from the game.

720p civilization v12/7/2023 At the start of the game there are no cities anywhere in the world: the player controls one or two settler units, which can be used to found new cities in appropriate sites (and those cities may build other settler units, which can go out and found new cities, thus expanding the empire). The game begins in 4000 BC, before the Bronze Age, and can last through to AD 2100 (on the easiest setting) with Space Age and "future technologies". The scope of Civilization is larger than most other games. Each civilization is led by a famous historical figure, such as Mahatma Gandhi for India. Other civilizations include the Americans, the Mongols, and Romans. The Aztecs are both fiercely expansionist and generally extremely wealthy, for example. The player's choice of civilization also prevents the computer from being able to play as that civilization or the other civilization of the same color, and since computer-controlled opponents display certain traits of their civilizations this affects gameplay as well. The choice does affect their starting position on the "Play on Earth" map, and thus different resources in one's initial cities, but has no effect on starting position when starting a random world game or a customized world game. In contrast to later games in the Civilization series, this is largely a cosmetic choice, affecting titles, city names, musical heralds, and color. These threats only come from huts, unclaimed land or sea, so that over time and turns of exploration, there are fewer and fewer places from which barbarians will emanate.īefore the game begins, the player chooses which historical or current civilization to play. From time to time the player's towns may be harassed by barbarians, units with no specific nationality and no named leader. Along with the larger tasks of exploration, warfare and diplomacy, the player has to make decisions about where to build new cities, which improvements or units to build in each city, which advances in knowledge should be sought (and at what rate), and how to transform the land surrounding the cities for maximum benefit. The game requires a fair amount of micromanagement (although less than other simulation games). The player takes on the role of the ruler of a civilization, starting with one (or occasionally two) settler units, and attempts to build an empire in competition with two to seven other civilizations. Gameplay A world map screenshot from the Amiga version of CivilizationĬivilization is a turn-based single-player strategy game. Civilization was followed by several sequels starting with Civilization II, with similar or modified scenarios. A multiplayer remake, Sid Meier's CivNet, was released for the PC in 1995. In addition to its commercial and critical success, the game has been deemed pedagogically valuable due to its presentation of historical relationships. Civilization has sold 1.5 million copies since its release and is considered one of the most influential computer games in history due to its establishment of the 4X genre. The player's civilization is in competition with other computer-controlled civilizations, with which the player can enter diplomatic relationships that can either end in alliances or lead to war.Ĭivilization was designed by Sid Meier and Bruce Shelley following the successes of Silent Service, Sid Meier's Pirates! and Railroad Tycoon. The player can also make such decisions as setting forms of government, tax rates and research priorities. The player can control individual units and advance the exploration, conquest and settlement of the game's world. The player is tasked with leading an entire human civilization over the course of several millennia by controlling various areas such as urban development, exploration, government, trade, research, and military. The game was originally developed for MS-DOS running on a PC, and it has undergone numerous revisions for various platforms.
